You are probably familiar with other cutting compounds, such as T-Cut, but   Farecla G3 offers a finer, potentially less damaging option. You can use it to gently smooth out any imperfections and increase the gloss finish to lacquers.   It is also used for restoring old paintwork and cutting back repairs, where there has been over application. This is the gentlest method to try out first - if this does not work, then you can try 2000 grade paper. If this does not achieve the result that you need and it is necessary to cut back the lacquer further, using 1200 or 1500 grade wet and dry paper should help you do this.
